Bowling Green FC Golden Lions Academy is an unprecedented unifying of soccer at all participation and skill levels in Bowling Green and neighboring communities such as Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Owensboro, Glasgow, Russellville and many others.  For the first time ever, Western Kentucky will have a club that offers a clear pathway to professional football.  At the top of the player pathway lies the BGFC Golden Lions of the UPSL.  The UPSL is officially sanctioned as a 4th tier professional platform by the United States Soccer Federation mirroring USL 2.  Employing top coaches and trainers in a player-centric environment that focuses on training, development, and fostering a lifelong love of the beautiful game at all levels make BGFC the destination soccer club in Western Kentucky.

It is our commitment that Bowling Green Football Club seeks to provide children, a full range of opportunities to enjoy and develop in soccer, at a level appropriate for their age, ability and interest. We recognize that different children play the game for different reasons and that BGFC must therefore provide a variety of programs which address the needs and interests of all children in the communities we serve.

The Bowling Green FC Golden Lions Pro

In the spring of 2021, Bowling Green FC, entered its first inaugural season as a semi-professional club in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Expedition Conference. As of spring 2022, BGFC has returned back to the UPSL and is looking ahead toward its second competitive season.  The Golden Lions won the Expedition Conference regular season title and post season playoffs of the UPSL, finishing with an 11-1 record.  The Pro side reached the National Round of 16 in their inaugural campaign.  All of the Golden Lions home matches are played at Bowling Green Junior High School also known as “The Pit.”  This home stadium makes for a unique experience for our fans and we look forward to continuing to strive to drive the beautiful game forward in the community and neighboring cities!  If you haven’t had a chance to attend a Golden Lions Pro Match check out our schedule and come be a part of the UPSL Number 1 Fan Base!
 
The Academy Program:

The Bowling Green FC Academy (BGFC) U13-U19 boys program is meant for driven, coachable, and talented players who want to experience a professional learning environment and developmental benefits that come from high level, specific, and professional coaching. The primary focus of the BGFC U13-U19 program is to develop the individual player (over immediate team success) so that each player can fulfill their maximum potential.
 
The Pre Academy Program:
 
The Bowling Green FC Academy will provide young players ages U9-U12 their first competitive soccer experience in a professional environment. The nature in which they train and play games will allow players from Bowling Green & neighboring areas to enhance the developmental process and increase the level of soccer. It is important for all to recognize that 7v7 & 9v9 age group training will be heavily focused on the technical aspect of the game, in particular ball mastery and technique with both feet.
